Message from Denise Bontrager and the Northstar Student Council:
Annually during the holidays, our Student Council sponsors a service project to help brighten this time of the year for those who might need assistance. Again this year we decided to take on the job of FOOD DRIVE for Red Rock Area Community Action Program. This agency prepares food baskets for approximately 95 elderly households throughout Marion County.
We are excited about helping our senior citizens. In order to help, what we need is non-perishable food items and paper products. (We have to remember our Peanut Safe building policy.)
We will begin our collection Thursday DECEMBER 2nd. We ask that each student bring whatever he or she can to contribute to our drive. There will be boxes in the lobby by our tree, and students may simply put their things in the boxes.
Our drive will end Friday the 17th, as the folks at Community Action will come to pick up all that we have been able to collect.
Please show your support for those in need and donate your non-perishable food items or paper products. Encourage your children to give to others in spirit of the holiday season!
